There is a growing need to improve the treatment for mental-health conditions. Design can significantly contribute to normalizing care environments and improve patient outcomes.

Medical treatment is not the only factor that matters in determining the health outcome of a patient, it is also the buildings and spaces in which the patient is treated. As healthcare designers, it is important for us to reimagine the role a building can play in the health of its inhabitants and community in which it is situated.

When Eye Surgeons of Indiana decided to relocate their practice and surgery center, they selected a prominent site along North Meridian Street just south of I465. This location offered visibility that was convenient and easy to find for their clients. Their goal was to create a building that expressed their attention to first-class individual care using natural warm building materials and textures balanced with clean simple forms and surfaces: high-tech and high-touch. Artekna was honored to assist them in achieving their goal.
