Richmond State Hospital
The Clinical Treatment Center at Richmond State Hospital was completed for the Indiana Department of Public Works in conjunction with the Family and Social Services Administration and staff of RSH. The CTC is a state-of-the-art treatment facility for patients with behavioral and/or psychiatric disorders.
The diverse program involved integrating and expanding programs that were previously scattered throughout the existing campus setting, and included a new pharmacy, lab, dental clinic, arts and crafts studio, a training and life skills area, a social gathering area, a gymnasium, and a technologically advanced conference/meeting area. A very large skylight acts as an organizing feature and introduces a great deal of daylight to the interior of the building, providing a therapeutic environment.
