IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital 4 North Renovation

At its conception in 2017, ARTEKNA began the process of designing the newly renovated Obstetrical Unit at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. The Obstetrical Unit needed to be renovated and revitalized while staying operational to serve the existing patients during construction. The Obstetrical Unit is a critical component of the facility and could not shut down. Our team worked hand-in-hand with the owner and construction manager to critically plan the various phases, including BIM modeling, patient flow, overhead equipment, and MEP coordination so it could be constructed to minimize and eliminate disruption.

The 33,630 SF Obstetrical Unit included new LDR Rooms, LDR Triage Rooms, C-Section Rooms, Mother/Baby Rooms and support spaces. Now the unit is one continuous plan where the entire staff is together and has a “patient-friendly” flow.
