Until
the development of this project, Wishard utilized the old labor room to
delivery room to postpartum room model. This project, which included
four new LDRP rooms, became the standard design for all subsequent
birthing rooms at Wishard. In the LDRP room, the mother remains in the
same room throughout her entire stay. Space in the room is dedicated
for the rooming-in of the baby and for fathers and other family
members. Particular attention is given to creating a warm and
comfortable atmosphere, much like a bedroom at home.
Artekna produced the final complete construction documents in two weeks
from the initial design meeting in order to meet the hospital's
accelerated need for these rooms. |
