Memorial Hospital serves a small community of 7,000 people and rural
area east of Indianapolis. The hospital was in need of space to
accommodate new technology and growth in Surgery, Radiology, Physical
Therapy and Emergency Departments. The Board of Directors wanted a
facility that reflected their mission as a growing community-oriented
hospital that provided modern healthcare services.
Artekna created a brick and
limestone structure with broad, sloping roofs and reflective glass to
contrast with the stark limestone original hospital of 1951. This
addition also became the new Main Entry for the hospital.
