Samaritan Hospital was in need of new space to provide service for
outpatient surgery, OB/GYN, cardiology, emergency room and a new heart
surgery center. Artekna created a five-story addition to the hospital
for these services including a new main entrance and lobby.
The addition required a complicated structure for a new elevator tower
through the existing structure to connect the OB/GYN suite and
outpatient surgery preoperative suite to the existing surgical
department and renovation to the existing radiology department.
The new addition became the main entrance to the hospital. The
two-story lobby included reception and admission, waiting, and helped
create a new circulation pattern for the entire facility.
