| Fayette Memorial Hospital
nearly doubled the size of their existing facility
with this three-story plus basement expansion. Relocated
to the new addition were surgery, outpatient surgery,
intensive care unit, medical/surgical unit, emergency
department, laboratory, pharmacy, materials management,
medical records, a physician’s center, and
an expansion of radiology.
This project had many challenges for which Artekna
developed creative solutions. The hospital campus
is a city block in Connersville with very limited
space available for the expansion. A unique structural
system was developed in order to construct the
new basement space next to the existing building.
The new addition was required to match very low
existing floor-to-floor heights, resulting in
limited space available for modern hospital systems.
Additionally, Artekna produced the construction
documents for a competitive bidding process within
a fast-track design schedule. |
